The Art of Allowing

This morning when I woke up and was lying there in the first states of consciousness, which is somewhere between being half awake and half asleep, I started to process all of the things that I needed to accomplish for the day. I began to get a gut sinking feeling of being extremely overwhelmed. This in turn caused me to start feeling high anxiety and dread for the day. I didn’t really feel much like praying or meditating, which I know from many years of training myself to do so would be beneficial. Even if it was for a brief time, would bring everything into Divine order and bring my crazy little monkey mind into a peaceful state where I could accomplish everything I needed to do today with grace and ease. It was in that moment that I stopped and allowed myself the gift of appreciating all of the wonderful people that are in my life, all the joy that is available to me if I choose, and all of the positive things that will come to me by doing so. Being grateful to God our Divine Source and truly trusting in the process, can and will change your life in such a way that will truly astound those who have never experienced the power of allowing. In every moment we are creating with our thoughts, words, or our actions. This is why it is extremely important to make the choice to live in gratitude for the things that we do have, the people that come into our lives and the blessing of being able to experience the Art of Allowing.

The Art of Allowing is truly a choice.  Just as standing in gratitude is a choice. Thinking of things in a positive manner is a choice and taking action on all of these things is a choice. Everything you do in this lifetime is a choice, a decision you have made for yourself, whether positive or negative. It is my belief that you have the power to create whatever you want or desire. The key to it all is allowing the natural flow of the things that you have set your intentions on and the actions you have taken towards your goals.

Did you know that the Universe has a AAA membership club? Did you know that you can sign up for it at any time for free? Yes, it’s true! There is no charge to join this Universal AAA club. However, there are a few requirements in order to become a member:

1) Ask

2) Action (you must take action)

3) Allow

Let me break this down for you very simply one step at a time:

1) Imagine that you are a little child of about 6 years of age. Christmas is coming and there are so many things that you’d like to have. You’ve thought of all the endless possibilities, made your list  and continually added to it. The thing that you most want is a new bicycle. You’ve actually pictured yourself riding that brand new red shiny bicycle with the banana seat, streamers flowing in the breeze from the handle bars, and the shiny silver spoke wheels sparkling in the sunlight. You have even imagined hearing the sound of the little bell that you can ring at any time to alert people that you are behind them, or just to ring it for fun. You can feel the wind rushing across your face and blowing through your hair as you race down the street on this beautiful new shiny red bike. You’re going so fast that your friends can’t even keep up with you! Now….snap back into reality. After all of these wonderful visions and all of the positive thoughts that you have put into it and all of the lists that you have so diligently composed, you forgot to write the bicycle on the final list that you gave to your parents. In all of the frenzy of thought processes and living in your fantasy world, you forgot to ask for the one thing that you wanted most. You didn’t ask for the shiny red bicycle with the streamers, banana seat, spoke wheels and little happy sounding bell announcing your arrival. Now, Christmas day is here and there’s no red bicycle sitting under the tree. Why? Because you didn’t ask. Had your parents known how much you wanted this bicycle and how much joy it would have given you to have it, they would have done everything in their power to make that happen for you. Your fantasy would have become a reality. All you had to do was ask, and make your desire known to them. In that very same way, we can make our lists all day long, set our intentions and think positive thoughts, but we need to ask God, the Universe, Divine Source for our hearts desires in order to set everything into motion.

2) Action: As you can see, asking and action go hand in hand. Asking is actually an action. First, you have the desire and thought process of wanting and needing something. You set your intentions, have a positive attitude and then action comes into play by asking. A great way to ask the Universe for what you desire is: What are the Infinite possibilities that I might receive something even better than I can possibly imagine? Something so wonderful and so much better suited for my needs. I can assure you that God’s plan and vision for your life is so much better and grander than you can possibly fathom! Here’s a good example of taking action. Let’s say that you need a job. You’ve been out of work for quite sometime and really need to start working. Obviously you need to take several steps. The first step is to ask. Ask God, our Divine Source for the perfect job for you. One that will fulfill you in every way, bringing you purpose, happiness and financial abundance. Now the second step is for you to take action. You can ask all day long, but if you don’t take any action toward what you want, nothing can or will happen. At this point you need a resume’. Something to submit to your future employer that tells them of your credentials and experience. Obviously, your action step is to update your resume’, print it out and have it ready to present. Now that you have your resume’ done, you will need to take another action step at this point. Now you need to apply for your potential job. As you can see, if you would have stopped at just asking God for a job and not taken action towards getting a job by preparing your resume’ and actually applying for it, there would be no possibility of future employment. This shows you how asking and action go hand in hand. Now, we come to the 3rd step, which is allowing the process.

3) Allowing: This is probably the most difficult step for most of us to take. Allowing involves trust. Trust in the process that you’ve started participating in . Trust that all the steps you’ve take up to now have been done with the highest integrity and intentions. Trust that God, our Divine Source is taking care of things in our best interest, even when we can’t physically see what is happening in the Spiritual realm. Now that you’ve done the work and done your part, you must allow the process to unfold. There is such a big difference between forcing something to happen as opposed to allowing something to happen. These are expansive/contractive energies. Forcing something to happen is contractive, aggressive, pushing and not allowing the natural flow of things. Allowing something to happen is expansive, receiving, expecting and trusting that all is in Divine order and purpose with our very best outcome to unfold. Allowing is letting all of the good flow with with grace and ease to you. Can you feel a difference in the energetics between the two? Trust me that others around you will feel the difference when you are either forcing or allowing.

The Art of Allowing is truly a life changing experience. Once you choose to implement this art into every area of your life, whether it’s searching for the perfect job, searching for the perfect life partner, or searching for a way that you can be of most service and support to this world, the Art of Allowing will help you to life your life to it’s highest potential.
